Vettel and Raikkonen finished less than a second apart after 70 laps of the Hungaroring,
In a nail-biting finish In beautiful Hungary, the German Sebastian Vettel had his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen behind complaining that he could go faster but being used by the team as a buffer against Hamilton.
Vettel, handicapped for most of the race by a steering issue, was indebted to team-mate Raikkonen not challenging him for the lead
as his pace evaporated.

On a day when the Silver Arrows had no answer to the
Scuderia

In a highly risk but sporting move, Lewis Hamilton surrendered
third place to Mercedes stable-mate
Bottas at the final corner after previously being let through by the Finn, and he let team-mate Valtteri Bottas past into third place, honouring a promise he made earlier in the race when the Finn moved aside to let Hamilton attack the two ferraris.

Max Verstappen, who had been penalised 10 seconds for taking his Red Bull team mate Daniel
Ricciardo out of the race on the opening lap.
