Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso won over reigning World Champion Marc Márquez in a sensational race-long battle for honours at the Austrian Grand Prix as he claimed his third victory of the 2017 Moto GP season.

The italian Dovizioso grabbed the lead from Márquez when the Repsol Honda rider made a mistake just over halfway through of the Austrian race, and the pair swapped places several times across the remaining laps.

Márquez was left on the outside line exiting the penultimate turn but lunged up the inside into the final right-hander, attempting to complete a block pass, but the Ducati rider was wise to Márquez's advances.
Dovizioso used the cutback to out-accelerate his compromised rival and crossed the line ahead to capture his third victory of the campaign at the Spielberg circuit, to the delight of his jubilant team.

Some stunning action that shook up the lead, as Lorenzo headed deep, Marquez cut inside – and Dovizioso then blasted past both as the three machines were almost neck-and-neck. But Marquez struck back, before an almost replica replay of the earlier trio saw Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) run deep, Rossi pounce – and Pedrosa take both. The it was Rossi’s time to run wide – off across the run off at Turn 1 and dropping back into seventh as he made his way back on track.
What amazing race Marc and Dovi gave us all a show. Congrats Dovi. Way to keep the Moto GP championship alive.
