Manchester United won the EFL Cup 2017

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the Manchester United' Wembley hero as he scores a brace in EFL Cup triumph over plucky Saints

Manchester United won the EFL Cup 2017 after a 3-2 victory over Southampton.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's late winner secured the Football League Cup and gave Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho his first success since his summer appointment, as brave Southampton were beaten at Wembley.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a sumptuous free-kick from 25 yards to give United the lead before Jesse Lingard doubled it.
But Manolo Gabbiadini got one back before the break before scoring another just three minutes after
Saints' Italian striker had earlier had a goal seemingly wrongly ruled out for offside by the referee.
Ibrahimovic proved to be the hero for Jose Mourinho man by heading home the winner in the 87th minute to secure the EFL cup for the Red Devils.

It was an entertaining final
Massive Credit to Southampton, to come from 2 goals down and almost did what most thought was impossible against Manchester United, setting the match tempo until the end.
Southampton were the better side for most of this final but were left heartbroken by a controversial offside decision - and the inspiration provided by the 35-year-old Ibrahimovic, the Swede is just incredible & just loves to be the show man.
